Significance of colors in home interior designing
While painting interiors keep in mind that each color has different psychology. Colors can influence emotions, & mood of an individual. For a peaceful atmosphere choose colors wisely. Painting interiors with some colors in large amount might have opposite effects. For selecting interior colors start from understanding the function of that particular area. Then decide which color to be painted there. Here are some common colors and their meaning.
Red
Red is associated with energy, strength, determination, passion, confidence, love and so on. Red is considered to be the most psychologically stimulating color. It enhances metabolism, increases respiration rate & increases blood pressure. Red and colors of red like Magenta, Burgundy, and Maroon will work well in the living room because they draw people together and stimulate conversation.
White
White color is considered to be the color of perfection. It signifies safety, purity, and cleanliness, youth and creates a cool, refreshing feeling. White depicts faith and purity.
Yellow
Yellow is a color associated with the joy of sunshine, happiness, intellect & energy. It is an excellent choice for the kitchen, dining room, where it energizes & uplifts. In halls, entries and small spaces, yellow can feel expansive and welcoming. When overused, yellow may have a disturbing effect. Studies show that people are more likely to lose their temper in a yellow interior. Babies too cry more in yellow rooms.
Pink
Pink is considered to be feminine color. It associates with innocence, romance, hope, optimism and so on. Pink is a calming, non – threatening color. The pink color will work well in the bedroom.
Green
Green is considered to be the color of nature. The green color is associated with growth, joy, freshness, loyalty, wisdom, etc. . . It is considered to be the most soothing color for eyes. It has a calming effect & relieves stress by helping people to relax. Green has great healing power.
Blue
Blue will do something exact opposite of red. That is the reason it is considered to be calming, relaxing, Enthusiastic, sympathetic, Idealistic, spiritual and sincere, etc…. Blue is known to have a calming effect when used as the main color of a room – but go for softer shades. Dark blue has the opposite effect, evoking feelings of sadness.
Brown
Brown is an earth color. It feels stable, security & contentment. Brown color can lend an elegant, futuristic look to your space. Dark brown shades are for dining room.
